A few comments had been received about received signal strength from GB3MP being lower since it was put back on the air.
There were no known faults at the time however the keeper would take a look when time allowed.
The keeper was on site today for a commercial job and took the time to perform some tests. The repeater and it’s cavity filter are both in spec however it’s clear that the antenna has been damaged as it is showing a high SWR.
Unfortunately the keeper does not have a suitable replacement to hand, so one will need to be sourced, and then arrangements be made for rigging on the tower. Timescales for this are unpredictable as restrictions are in place regarding on-site work.
Once installed, the replacement antenna should bring MP back to full service. Until then, MP will remain off the air.
